Volunteer with us

Volunteers are welcome from all Communities in the area.  

They are an integral part of the Snowflake Trust's success. They are the ones that create real change for those most in need. This is your chance to meet new people, gain new skills and experience and have fun whilst being part of a great cause. We need Volunteers to help tackle the issue of homelessness this winter and provide support to those who are most vulnerable.

The volunteering opportunities will be different from previous years.

The government guidelines and Public Health advice mean that it is not suitable to operate communal shelters like the one that has run in Hastings and St Leonards for the last nine years. We are unable to use church halls this year to provide emergency shelter.

Volunteers

It is disappointing that we will not be able to operate the Winter Night Shelter this year, but we are all getting used to things not being the same and having to do things differently. We are pleased that the Hastings Borough Council will be providing the Temporary Accommodation and that they have asked the Snowflake Winter Night Shelter volunteers to continue to be involved with Guests in this Winter’s Temporary Accommodation. Due to the Covid-19 guidelines we are restricted in how much interaction will be possible with residents.

Please Note: There are two shifts at the venue: 

  • Food preperation 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

  • Drivers 7:45 pm - 8:45 pm

  • See the 'NEWS' page for the next registration/ training meetings and up and coming events. 

We sincerely hope you will consider having an involvement with this much-needed outreach at whatever role and frequency you can.
